COMMUNITY TABLE

The Third Wednesday of every month we serve any one and everyone from 4 to 6 pm. in our church fellowship hall.   If you happen to be short on cash, come and have a great meal on us.

If you have any extra, toss a couple bucks in the bucket to help someone else. If you’ve got some time come and help at the meal.

If you are hungry come and eat.

Your presence is a part of the ministry.

Wednesday Night Women's Study

Food Pantry Sunday

The first Sunday of each month is food pantry Sunday. That is the Sunday we think of  and bring a donation. There are at least two ways we can do this. The first is to bring products and the other is a monetary donation. Canned and boxed meals help to make a quick meal. Anything that cannot be bought with food cards including, but not limited to: dish soap, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine products and diapers. These are all appreciated by those who use our food pantry.

About Us

Connecting Newcomers to God and to God’s People

Spooner United Methodist Church has been part of the local community for 125 years, believing that God calls us to be engaged in our community, both personally and collectively. We are Christians who are excited to be part of the United Methodist Church. United Methodists hold to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith and have been known for our emphasis on a personal faith, lived out in concrete ways in the world. We value well-informed and passionate preaching, lively worship, service to others and a rich fellowship where people can grow in faith.

As a part of the United Methodist Church Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Ministry at Home and around the World

Some of the missions we support include: The United Methodist Committee on Relief emergency services, Red Bird Mission in Kentucky, Mujalla Falls Mission Station in Zambia, Harbor House in Superior, Washburn County Food Pantry, Faith in Action, as well as participation in a number of local projects and a monthly free community meal.

Nurture & Care with Home Visitors

Being part of a fellowship such as ours means having a family beyond your own family. Led by our parish nurses & care team, the people of our church care for one another through prayer, visits and practical assistance as is needed.

  Can we pray for you?

Spooner UMC has a vital and active prayer ministry and we invite you to be a part of it. We have both a telephone and an e-mail prayer chain. Call the church at 715-635-3227 to list a request or to join the list. But there’s more. - Following worship each Sunday there is a prayer partner to pray with you individually. - The Tuesday Prayer Team meets at 4:30 pm Tuesdays in the Spooner Sanctuary. Join us. - We also keep Home Front Prayer Warriors informed on the needs of the church so that they may support us from home.

Get Connected With Us…

Do you Knit? Do you Sew?

We make Prayer Shawls that are blessed by the whole church and given to people who are hospitalized or facing surgery.  We meet Tuesday mornings to sew. – Quilts, aprons, church banners, clothes for missions, we’ll take on anything. We share our service and have a great time too.

Want to Study the Bible?
There are a number of opportunities. Tuesday’s at 6:00 pm. we meet with 3 other local churches for a meal and study.  Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm or on 2nd Thursdays at 12:30 pm a group of women study as well.

Do you Sing or Play an Instrument?
Our Choir sings 2 Sundays a month and there are many other chances to play for & with others in the fellowship. Ask the pastor.
